Community Connections

Join SSAFA’s Community Connection Champions and meet new people, learn new skills and boost your wellbeing whilst having fun.

Armed Forces life can bring its challenges when a loved-one is deployed overseas, or a family or service person moves to a new location. Some people can find themselves feeling lonely or isolated.

SSAFA’s Community Connection Champions support members of the local serving community with welcoming, engaging groups that bring people together and build connections. From book clubs to gaming challenges, there is something for everyone.

Meet new people by volunteering!

Additionally, have you considered volunteering for SSAFA?  Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, use your skills and even learn some new ones.

Loneliness is feeling alone, not being alone. You can be lonely in a room full of people. Social isolation is not the same as loneliness, but it is closely linked. Social isolation is a lack of social contacts. Being socially isolated doesn’t necessarily mean you feel lonely.

Most people feel lonely at some point in their lives. It’s a normal emotion that anyone can experience no matter their age or background.

Run by the community, for the community.
