Babcock becomes a SSAFA Corporate Partner
04 April 2025
Babcock International Group, a longstanding supporter of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity has elevated its nearly decade-long sponsorship by becoming an official Corporate Partner.
Babcock is a UK-headquartered international defence company, providing engineering, support, and critical systems to armed forces around the world. It has a longstanding history of recruiting and developing ex-service personnel both in the UK and around the globe.
Every year, Babcock recruits around 1,000 people into its business who have a connection to the armed forces, whether as a veteran, reservist, cadet-instructor, or as a member of an armed forces family.
The partnership focuses on supporting SSAFA’s mentoring service and will help fund the training of volunteer mentors who will provide support and guidance to service personnel transitioning back into civilian life, some after many years in their military roles.
John Howie, Babcock’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, said: “SSAFA’s invaluable work supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families aligns perfectly with our commitment at Babcock to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the armed forces community. We’re incredibly proud to elevate our long-standing relationship with SSAFA to an official Corporate Partnership.”
The Head of Corporate Engagement for SSAFA, Jenny King, added: “Supporting our mentoring service through an initial donation of £15,000 is an amazing way to launch our corporate partnership with Babcock.
“The mentoring service has a proven and successful track record of long-term support during transition and, for up to two years, post discharge, and it’s down to the invaluable backing of companies like Babcock that we can deliver it.”
