Live ChatEach year, SSAFA Wales supports hundreds of individuals, families and family members from our Armed Forces community across Wales who are in need of support.
The SSAFA Wales Regional Office handles in excess of 6000 calls per year (over 500 calls per month). Our support covers both regulars and reserves in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force including anyone who has completed National Service. The support we offer ranges from non-financial support (signposting) through to financial support for a range of goods and services.
In 2024, SSAFA Wales opened 391 applications for financial assistance, with an average case taking just 73 days from start to finish. We successfully secured more than £620,000 from our assistance providers to support the individuals and families who came to SSAFA at their time of need.
With a team of volunteers and specialist caseworkers, we aim to achieve the best possible outcome for each case. Our support is far reaching and has included funding for household goods such as washing machines, fridge freezers, cookers, beds, sofas, carpets etc, mobility aids such as mobility scooters, profiling beds, rise recliner chairs stairlifts etc, essential property repairs and maintenance, assistance with priority debts and funeral costs to name but a few.
With our non-financial support, signposting, we can advise and direct you to relevant agencies and organisations to assist with things such as mental health, homelessness, military enquiries, debt advice, addiction support, benefits advice and home adaptations amongst other things.
